Passion....
Apparently you can only have passion for certain musical styles if Rollins deems it O.K. He loses all authority and standing when he tries to attack music he doesn't like or understand. I dont expect bluegrass musicians to have the same theme and pulse as say the Voidoids, but thats what makes it art.......If everyone painted the same fucking stupid painting, The Louvre would be boring as shit.

No he is not it would suck if he was. he's just a regular guy who knows what he is talking about. I've been to his speaking engagements a few times and he has a talent for public speaking. I have always liked the fact that he is able to weed through the bullshit and focus on what is true and what really matters. A genius? No. A working mans hero? Well, thats just my opinion.

Regular working people can be geniuses too, you know. The way he cuts through the decoration to find such vital truths? That is the kind of genius that one might expect to ONLY find in the average everyday...huge...tattooed...famous...ex-Black Flag singer...extremely high-strung...wait he's not just a regular guy anymore. Is there such thing as a regular guy?
Not all geniuses toil in academia or make popular speeches that go viral on Youtube and end up on CNN or at a TED conference.

Hes a idiot...go listen to some pre rollins Black Flag..he sold out and lost any clue he ever had when he started being on tv shows.I use to be a huge Rollins fan,use to buy his books,listen to his spoken word and fuck the End of Silence shows were sick.When he started doing tv after all the shit he said about it being a drug..he lost me.
workaholic and depressed
henry's a depressed workaholic. he's happiest when he's working his ass off cos it distracts him from getting more depressed. it wouldn't matter what the job was (within reason). i respect him for dealing with his problems through hard work, instead of taking the easier option of laying down and becoming another fat, lazy pharmaceutical guinea pig. deal with it your way henry.

Ofcourse he's been selling out, That's why he knows so much about it and why it sucks that bad. I think most of the people playing in a really good band who gets the opportunity would sell out for the "fame" or just to be heard. You learn from your mistakes. I still think this guy know whats he's talking about 100% of the times.. And if you haven't been through it you cant talk so much shit about it :)
